Why Is It So Hard To Find a Job for Young Malaysian Graduates?

In fact, Malaysian's education have been a lot of improvement in other types of element such as many kind of institution and programmes that student take. As we all know this institution are separated into two parts: private and public. Both of them have born many graduates. But the question is, are they were equip enough to facing the job world? Many fresh graduates are complaining that they have difficulty to get a job. Are the companies too picky or the problems rely on the graduates?

Malaysian graduates fail get a job because their weakness in English. This is the fact. Almost of this graduate do not have any problem in having speaking publicly. But, what make them 'stuck' when they attending an interview are their 'unfixed' command in English. This reality is supported by Suresh Thiru, vice-president of operations at online recruitment company JobStreet.com. "The key criteria employers look for in potential hires are a good command of English, a good attitude and a strong work ethic," The fact is, thirty thousand Malaysian graduates only managed to get casual and ordinary work such as cashier and restaurant workers because their poor English proficiently.

Education performance is not the main focus for the employer and they poorly equipped with the skills required by changing market and economy. From the 12 criteria listed by 115 employers surveyed in a study on unemployment conducted by the National Economic Action Council, the top three of soft skills are: good communications, being presentable and having a reasonable grasp of general knowledge. Academic performance just only came eighth. Almost 64% of the employers agree with the motion: education performance is just a package of the student. Sometimes, the job are there, but the graduates are not up to the mark and do not meet the industry's requirement for the technical skills, competence and knowledge of the specific job platform.

At the certain moment, we have to look out for the Attitude, mentality and assumption of the graduate. As an example, they tend to think that if they could score the flying colour result in examination, they might have chance to have a good job. By the meaning of attitude problems is, fail in time management, their laziness in doing any extra exercise, their assumption that their involvement in club or society at their university just a wasting of time and always break a rules. When it is continuously happen, it become of some sort of their habit and after they graduates, they will 'accidentally showing' this attitude. So, no wonder, why should the prospective employers be serious about hiring them.In this new era, the graduates have to alert with any job prospect changing. Now, we are going through the 'Multitasks' era. In other word, the graduate must prepared them self with multiple capability. As an example, eventhough they are come from the engineering field, at least they know about accountancy as well. Besides, they should be something different and not to follow the crowded. Undergraduates themselves need to be aware of it.

Tips Belajar Bahasa Inggeris dengan berkesan

1. Never Study A Single English Word
That’s right, do not memorize words. Native speakers do not learn English by remembering single words. Native speakers learn phrases.

2. Never Study Grammar
Right now. Stop. Put away your grammar books and textbooks. Grammar rules teach you to think about English, you want to speak automatically– without thinking!

3. Learn With Your Ears, Not Your Eyes
Spend most of your study time listening- that is the key to great speaking.

4. Slow, Deep Learning Is Best
Its not enough to know a definition. Its not enough to remember for a test. You must put the word deep into your brain. To speak English easily, you must repeat each lesson many times.

5. Use Point Of View Mini-Stories
You must learn grammar by listening to real English. The best way is to listen to the same story… told in different times (points of view): Past, Perfect, Present, Future. How do you do this? Easy! Find a story or article in the present tense. Then ask your native speaker tutor to write it again in the Past, with Perfect tenses, and in the Future. Finally, ask him to read and record these stories for you.

6. Only Use Real English Lessons & Materials
How do you learn Real English? It’s easy. Stop using textbooks. Instead, listen only to real English movies, TV shows, audio books, audio articles, stories, and talk radio shows. Use real English materials.

7. Listen and Answer Mini-Stories (not Listen and Repeat)
Because the teacher constantly and quickly asks easy questions, you don’t have time to think about grammar. You just immediately shout a couple of words– which teaches you to respond faster, and faster, and faster.
